1950's vintage brass frame haberdashery cabinet/chest of drawers/storage cabinet. Sourced from a shop in North Yorkshire this is a very special original haberdashery cabinet with the double brass banding on the glass top and a complete brass frame.
The Cabinet has twenty cascading draws which all work well. It is such an honest piece that shows the scars of its hard working life and we wanted to leave it pretty much as we found it. The internal dimensions of the drawers are 33.5cm wide by 11cm deep. The length of the drawers starts at 39.5cm for the bottom drawer then ascending, 35.5cm, 32cm, 28.5cm and 24.5cm for the final top drawer.
This cabinet is a decent compact practical size, we have sold many that are used either in bedrooms/dressing rooms to house/display accessories collections or even in living rooms/studios as practical stunning storage. Note: There is a crack in one of the top glass panels but we have deliberately chosen to not replace it with new glass as all the glass has a rich vein of age and a new piece would in our view detract from the character.
Please note there are a few holes where we assume hooks have been used on the cabinet to keep bags/clothes handy. Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
